An underused south-facing front garden along a busy road was transformed into a space to enjoy gardening, appreciate natural forms and to share attractive views with neighbours and passers-by.
Accessibility was improved by addition of raised beds which reflect the style of the residence. Existing surface material was reused to ensure a sustainable approach, complimented by laying weed fabric to give ease of maintenance.
This newly created garden will bring enjoyment throughout the seasons as the plants become established for many years to come.

人通りの多い道路に面している前庭ですが、南向きの陽が良く当たるここでガーデニングを楽しみたい、通りを歩く人たちにきれいな庭を見てもらいたいという要望でした。
手が届きやすいように、高さがある花壇を建物に相応しいようにデザインしています。花壇以外の歩き回る場所には、もともとあった小石を一旦取り除き、防草シートの上に再利用して敷き詰めています。雑草が生えても抜きやすくなりました。雨水が浸透しやすい材料であることと合わせて、環境にやさしいアプローチです。
四季を通し、植物が育ち庭の成熟していく過程を楽しんでいただけるよう考えています。
